The LEGO Sets Inspired by Ukrainian Landmarks Have Been Released
The fundraising platform UNITED24 has collaborated with Lego Creators to launch a construction set based on Ukrainian landmarks. The proceeds from the sale of this unique Lego set will be directed towards the reconstruction of Ukraine, which is suffering from unprovoked attacks by Russia.
This information is available on the official UNITED24 website.
"UNITED24 brings together LEGO creators worldwide to launch the #LEGOwithUKRAINE initiative, aimed at promoting Ukraine’s architectural legacy and helping to rebuild Ukraine," as stated in the fundraising platform's announcement.
The LEGO sets based on Ukrainian landmarks were developed by three creators: Artur Samkov from Poland, Maksym Mityakin from Ukraine, and Yevgen Tonyev from the USA. The models were designed using original LEGO pieces, although the company itself was not directly involved in the project.
As a result, the lineup will feature the Kyiv monument "Mother Ukraine," an architectural landmark from the Ukrainian Crimea - "Swallow's Nest," and Mariupol Water Tower.
"I am excited to join the UNITED24 initiative and to build the Mother Ukraine statue. I believe the Mother Ukraine statue is one of Kyiv’s most prominent landmarks. I’m sure many Ukrainians and foreigners will instantly recognize it! Thank you to all the donors for their help in rebuilding my country," noted Maksym Mityakin.
To become the owner of this unique LEGO set, everyone interested must donate at least $24 through the UNITED24 platform. Among those who donate, exclusive sets will be raffled.
"Ukrainian LEGO landmarks are an opportunity to contribute to the reconstruction and popularize the architectural heritage of Ukraine right now," emphasized the Minister of Digital Development, Mykhailo Fedorov.
It is expected that the set will be presented in five copies for each of the landmarks and will be raffled among those who contribute to the fundraising for the reconstruction of Ukraine. The campaign will continue until November 28, 2023.
Within the first five hours, the initiative has already managed to collect over 1,200,000 hryvnias in donations from various parts of the world. All funds will be directed towards reconstruction of buildings in the Kyiv region.
The next UNITED24 set is planned to be released in spring 2024.
