Trump Issues 10-Day Ultimatum for Russia to Halt War in Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump has given Russia a 10-day deadline, starting Tuesday, to end its military offensive against Ukraine or face sweeping economic retaliation, including new tariffs and other punitive measures.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Trump’s statement.
Speaking aboard Air Force One after a European tour, Trump confirmed the new ultimatum, saying: “Ten days from today.”
The move significantly accelerates his earlier timeline. In July, Trump had set a 50-day window for Moscow to agree to a ceasefire or risk U.S. sanctions.
However, during talks this week with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, he indicated that the deadline would be reduced to “10 or 12 days,” finalizing the decision on Tuesday.
“And then we will impose tariffs and other measures. I don’t know if this will affect Russia, because it obviously wants to continue the war. But we will impose tariffs and other proposed measures.” Trump said.
Trump's tone toward Russian President Vladimir Putin has hardened in recent weeks. “We get a lot of empty talk from Putin,” Trump remarked earlier this month. “He’s always pleasant, but it means nothing.”
The White House has yet to confirm whether Moscow has responded to the shortened deadline.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukraine’s FM Andrij Sybiha, following US President Donald Trump's statement on shortening the deadline for Russian President Vladimir Putin to establish peace, called the White House leader's position “realistic and firm.”
