US Patience Wears Thin, Chances for Zelenskyy-Putin Meeting Rise, Says MFA

The US is losing patience, chances for a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin are growing, says Foreign Ministry
The chances for a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Kremlin dictator Putin are growing, said Deputy Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsya.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Ukrinform.
The deputy minister pointed out that US President Donald Trump is openly showing his dissatisfaction with Russia due to the Kremlin's delaying of the negotiation process.
"Moscow realizes that Washington is running out of patience. You can play games with friends and colleagues, but you can't play such games with the president of the United States. The Russian side said, 'You want a meeting? Then fulfill our demands! In other words, they are distorting the logic of the Ukrainian side, as they believe that presidents should only approve what has been done by experts," Kyslytsya said.
At the same time, he noted that Putin must clearly tell all his subordinates that they must formalize the fundamental agreements of the leaders, and not vice versa.
The diplomat also said that the topic of organizing a summit at the leadership level was raised during the first meeting of the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul. According to Kyslytsya, the Russian representatives did not say at the time that such a meeting would never take place. However, the Russian side made demands.
It should be noted that while the Ukrainian side is making every effort to ensure that negotiations with the Russians take place, Russia is deliberately delaying them. As the Kremlin press secretary said recently, a meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Putin “remains unlikely.” He said that Russia and Ukraine must first reach agreements through expert work.
Earlier, political scientist Maxim Dzhygun expressed the opinion that a trilateral meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump, and Putin is possible, but the main condition for such negotiations must be real decisions and results.
As The Gaze reported earlier, US President Donald Trump has announced a new deadline for Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin to resolve the war he started against Ukraine.
