Trump: No More Meetings If Alaska Talks Fail

US President Donald Trump said that if Friday’s summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin doesn’t go well, it may be the last time he holds a meeting with Putin on ending the war in Ukraine, “maybe ever.”
The Gaze writes about it, referring to The Wall Street Journal.
“This is really setting the table today,” Trump said on Air Force One en route to Alaska. “We're going to have another meeting if things work out, which will be very soon. Or we're not going to any more meetings at all, maybe ever.”
Trump, who fashions himself as a master dealmaker, said that while he doesn’t have “too many expectations” for the meeting, he will not be happy if “some form of a cease-fire” isn’t achieved.
“You have to weave and bob and you don't know what's going to happen,” Trump said about the dealmaking process. “But we're going to go and find out. I'd like to see a ceasefire.”
As The Gaze reported earlier, UK Defence Secretary John Healey has said Britain is prepared to send troops to Ukraine as part of an international mission if the ongoing war with Russia is halted by a ceasefire.
