UK and Partners Commit to Ukraine’s Post-War Flight Restoration

The United Kingdom, under the leadership of Sir Keir Starmer and the Coalition of Willing, will help restore“normal” flying conditions in Ukraine after the conclusion of a peace agreement, contributing to the country's economic recovery and strengthening its independence.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to The Telegraph.
President Macron and Prime Minister Starmer co-chaired a virtual meeting of the Coalition of the Willing on August 17, with President Zelenskyy in attendance.
European leaders gathered to discuss support for Ukraine and the next steps in peace talks following the meeting between President Trump and President Putin in Alaska.
As a result of this meeting, they emphasized their readiness to deploy support forces after the cessation of hostilities, as well as to ensure the security of Ukraine's airspace and seas.
It is planned that Royal Air Force fighter jets will join aircraft from other European countries to patrol Ukraine's skies to prevent a second full-scale Russian invasion. A secondary goal will be to resume international travel to and from Ukrainian cities for the purpose of Ukraine's economic recovery.
Similar efforts will be directed toward reopening Ukrainian ports by accelerating mine clearance operations in the Black Sea. These steps reflect the West's desire to make Ukraine not only a safe but also an economically prosperous country.
The British Prime Minister has promised to consider the possibility of deploying British troops and aircraft to Ukraine, but a large-scale deployment of forces to secure the new borders is no longer being considered. Instead, hundreds of instructors and engineers will be sent to the country to rebuild its armed forces.
The first deployments are expected to take place within a week of the ceasefire, and the UK's presence will gradually increase. The allies plan to patrol Ukrainian skies and deter a possible second Russian invasion, and the UK is ready to provide Eurofighter Typhoon and F-35 fighter jets for this purpose.
At the same time, efforts will be made to create safer ports around Ukraine. It is reported that the Black Sea Task Force, which includes Turkey, Romania, and Bulgaria, will be reinforced with specialized personnel to speed up the demining of the seas.
The UK Government stated that this drive would “ensure safe and secure maritime access for all vessels transiting to and from Ukraine ports”.
As The Gaze informed earlier, the United Kingdom and Germany have unveiled a joint defense initiative aimed at significantly strengthening Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.
