Ukraine and Norway Launch Defense Tech Program "Brave-Norway"

Ukraine and Norway are creating a joint program called Brave-Norway with a budget of €20 million, aimed at supporting innovation in the field of unmanned systems and military technologies.

The Gaze reports on it, referring to a statement made by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, on Telegram.

A corresponding Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed with the Norwegian Ministry of Defense, cementing a strategic partnership in the field of defense innovation.

The program provides grant support to startups working on innovations in the field of UAVs and other military technologies, as well as joint hackathons to find solutions that can change the situation on the front lines.

In particular, this cooperation also involves the creation of platforms for the integration of research institutions.

The Brave1 defense innovation cluster will be the project implementer on the Ukrainian side.

It is expected that the money provided by Norway will help promote new technology developments for direct testing and use on the battlefield.

“The €10 million provided by Norway to the Innovation Development Fund will be directed to a grant program for the development of game changers for war, which will be tested in Ukraine,” said Mykhailo Fedorov.

As The Gaze earlier reported, at the Defense Tech Valley 2025 conference in Lviv, four international companies announced plans to invest over $100 million in the development of Ukrainian defense technologies, emphasizing Ukraine's role as a key center of innovation in the defense sector.
