Ukraine and Poland Explore New Military Production Collaboration, Officials Say

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhii Boiev met with the head of the Polish Council for Cooperation with Ukraine, Paweł Kowal, to discuss potential joint defense production projects and further military assistance.
The Gaze writes about it, referring to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The visit of the Polish delegation to Kyiv continued the dialogue between Ukraine and Poland that began after the signing of a memorandum on defense cooperation and participation in the International Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine 2025.
“Industrial and innovation races are not only a component of modern warfare, but also a safeguard against new aggression in the future. Europe is scaling up its defense industry, and Poland is a leading driver in many areas, so we are equally interested in developing our defense cooperation,” said Boiev.
The Polish side raised the issue of implementing projects within the framework of the signed memorandum on defense cooperation between Ukroboronprom and the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ). The creation of joint production facilities for Ukrainian weapons in Poland within the framework of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's “Build with Ukraine” initiative was also discussed.
Serhii Boiev noted that Ukraine highly appreciates Poland's support in strengthening the country's defense capabilities. He stated that both countries face a number of common challenges, in particular countering hostile unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Ukraine is also showing considerable interest in using the SAFE mechanism to implement joint projects, he concluded.
It is worth recalling that the SAFE instrument is a large-scale initiative adopted by the EU Council, which provides for the allocation of up to €150 billion for investment in the defense and industrial complexes of EU member states.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the Polish Foreign Minister has called on the U.S. Presidential Envoy to restart arms supplies to Ukraine following the damage to Poland’s consular office in Kyiv caused by a Russian strike on July 4.
