Ukraine Completes EU Screening on Education, Culture

Ukraine has completed the screening of the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU legislation in the section ‘Education and Culture’, according to the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to her post on the social network X.
‘Ukraine adheres to EU values and principles; many sectoral goals are already reflected in our strategic documents and plans. We have expressed our desire for deeper cooperation by joining European initiatives and programmes,’ she wrote on social media platform X.
According to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of Ukraine Olga Stefanishyna, Ukraine is actively implementing the recommendations of the European Union provided under the 2023 and 2024 Enlargement Packages, which are aimed at promoting sectoral initiatives and reforms, including in the field of education.
For example, the Law on Preschool Education has entered into force, and 24 out of 35 necessary bylaws have already been approved to ensure its implementation.
Ukraine is also working to implement pan-European approaches in the cultural sphere, in particular through the development of national strategies, action plans and programmes for cultural development, seeking to align them with European priorities.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukraine has also successfully passed the screening of the compliance of its legislation with the EU norms in the section on entrepreneurship and industrial policy. The screening took place on 28-29 April.
