Ukraine, Estonia Agree to Culture Cooperation

Mykola Tochytskyi, Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, and Heidi Purga, Minister of Culture of Estonia, have signed a programme of cultural cooperation between the two countries for 2025-2029.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine.
The programme was signed during Tochytskyi's official visit to Estonia with the participation of representatives of the Ukrainian community.
The programme comes into force from the date of signing and will be valid until 31 December 2029.
The aim of the programme is to deepen Ukrainian-Estonian cooperation in the field of culture through the exchange of experience and the implementation of joint initiatives in the fields of theatre, music, library and museum affairs, cinematography, protection and restoration of cultural heritage monuments, folk art, fine arts, art education, literature, as well as the development of creative industries and cultural infrastructure.
The document envisages support for bilateral cultural and artistic projects, the exchange of specialists and creative teams, and the creation of favourable conditions for establishing partnerships between institutions in Ukraine and Estonia.
Purga noted that Estonia has been and will remain an unwavering supporter of Ukraine and wants to be by its side in the cultural sphere, including maintaining and strengthening ties that help Ukrainians preserve, develop and share their culture with the world even in times of war.
"This programme of cooperation is an expression of that commitment - a handshake across borders to confirm that we believe in you and we stand with you," she said.
For his part, Tochytskyi expressed confidence that the signing of the programme would be an important impetus for the further development of friendly relations between the two countries.
According to him, it will help deepen cooperation, ensure the comprehensive development and promotion of the culture of both countries and will be a strong confirmation of the mutual intention to exchange cultural experience, establish new contacts and improve mutual understanding between the peoples.
In Tallinn, the ministers visited the exhibition "Faces of Courage: Unbreakable Defenders of Azovstal" in Krulli quarter, dedicated to the defenders of Azovstal.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Estonia is ready to send a company of soldiers to the peacekeeping force in Ukraine as part of the Western “coalition of the willing”.
