Ukraine, France Sign Seven Agreements Worth €51 Million to Develop Ukrainian Healthcare

Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko and French Presidential Envoy for Ukraine's Relief and Reconstruction Pierre Elbron signed seven healthcare agreements totalling more than €51 million. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
According to Viktor Liashko, the signed agreements will significantly improve the country's medical infrastructure. In particular, 150 ultrasound diagnostic systems will be supplied to medical institutions across Ukraine, 75 hospitals will receive portable X-ray machines, 58 medical institutions will be equipped with the latest amputation rehabilitation equipment, and 700 units of cardiopulmonary resuscitation equipment will help save lives. It is also planned to build a children's rehabilitation centre in Vinnytsia and expand telemedicine services in six regions. The Minister thanked France for its support, stressing its importance for the development of Ukraine's healthcare system even in times of war.
According to the signed agreements, the following projects will be implemented:
1. Construction of a children's rehabilitation centre in Vinnytsia and reconstruction of a rehabilitation unit in Ladyzhyn (Ginger International, EUR 15 million).
2. Providing 75 medical institutions in Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipro, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions with portable X-ray machines (DMS Imaging, EUR 10.98 million).
3. Equipping 58 hospitals in Ukraine with the latest technologies for rehabilitation after amputations (Dessintey, EUR 8 million).
4. Procurement of 700 devices for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (EUR 5.92 million).
5. Expansion of telemedicine services in six regions of Ukraine (C3Medical, EUR 4.35 million).
6. Establishment of a network of autonomous microclinics in Kyiv, Lviv and Poltava (Schiller Medical, EUR 4.1 million).
7. Supply of 150 ultrasound diagnostic systems for hospitals across the country (Sonoscanner, EUR 2.98 million).
Pierre Elbron stressed the importance of these agreements for expanding cooperation between Ukraine and France in the healthcare sector. He noted that France has already allocated €130 million to support Ukrainian healthcare, including today's agreements and additional funding for other programmes. The projects involve ministries, hospitals, companies and other institutions of both countries, which allows us to comprehensively address pressing issues, from rehabilitation after amputations to the development of telemedicine.
The signing was part of the implementation of the Grant Agreement between the governments of Ukraine and France. In addition to medical initiatives, this agreement provides for 12 more projects in the areas of infrastructure, energy, demining, and water supply, totalling about €149 million.
As The Gaze reported, a few days ago, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a new €2 billion military support package for Ukraine.
