Ukraine Secures First Place at World Mixed Martial Arts Championship

The Ukrainian national mixed martial arts team won first place at the World Mixed Martial Arts Championship.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to the National Mixed Martial Arts Federation of Ukraine.
From September 27 to October 2, Tbilisi, Georgia, hosted a major global event, the World MMA Championship for youth and adults.
Almost 600 athletes from 61 countries took part in this global competition. As a result of the competition, Ukrainian athletes won 5 gold, 4 silver, and 7 bronze medals.
By winning first place in the championship, the Ukrainian national team proved to the whole world that “the strength of spirit, resilience, and skill of our athletes know no bounds!”
“And we want to emphasize that in 2025, the Ukrainian national team was the best in all international arenas!” the statement reads. “The European Championships for children and adults, the World Championships for children and adults — Ukrainians won everywhere and proved that we are a nation of winners!”
World champions:
1. Maria Klein (Zaporizhzhia region) weight category 56.7 kg among youth.
2. Ivan Pormetsuk (Volyn region) weight category 97 kg among youth.
3. Artem Oliinyk (Khmelnytskyi region) weight category 74.8 kg among youth.
4. Anna Hyra (Cherkasy region) weight category 47.6 kg among adults.
5. Oleksandr Khodakov (Sumy region) weight category +97 kg among adults.
The National Federation of Mixed Martial Arts of Ukraine notes that this victory is not only in sports, but also for the entire Ukrainian people.
“A victory that proves: where there is faith, dedication, and resilience, there will always be triumph!” it is noted.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh has been shortlisted for the title of Female Athlete of the Year 2025 by European Athletics.
