Yaroslava Mahuchikh Nominated for European Female Athlete of the Year

Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh has been shortlisted for the title of Female Athlete of the Year 2025 by European Athletics.
The Gaze reports this, referring to the federation’s announcement.
The 23-year-old, who claimed her third consecutive European indoor title earlier this year and won the Division 1 high jump event at the Team European Championships in Madrid, will compete against some of the continent’s top athletes for the honor.
Mahuchikh, last year’s Golden Tracks winner, also added two bronze medals at the 2025 World Championships – both indoors and outdoors – and secured silver in the Diamond League final, underscoring her consistency at the highest level.
Among her rivals are Italy’s Nadia Battocletti, a distance runner with European and world podium finishes; Dutch hurdler Femke Bol, a world and Diamond League champion; Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, the world champion in the 100m hurdles; Spain’s Maria Perez, a double world champion in race walking; and several other top performers including Jessica Schilder (shot put), Tina Šutej (pole vault), Kate O’Connor (heptathlon), Georgia Hunter-Bell (middle distance), and Jorinde van Klinken (discus).
The winner will be chosen through a combined vote of fans, national federations, journalists, and experts, with the result to be announced at the Golden Tracks awards ceremony on October 25.
As The Gaze previously reported, on May 18, Ukrainian high jump star Yaroslava Mahuchikh also claimed a dominant victory at the Continental Tour Gold meet in Tokyo, clearing 1.96 meters and continuing her undefeated streak in major competitions this season.
