Ukraine, South Korea Agree on Joint Port Reconstruction Projects

Ukraine and South Korea have signed a protocol to launch joint projects aimed at restoring and modernizing the country’s port infrastructure.
The Gaze reports this, referring to an announcement made by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA).
The agreement was reached during a working meeting held under a Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine’s Ministry for Communities and Territories Development and South Korea’s Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
Discussions focused on long-term strategies for the sustainable development of Ukrainian ports.
According to USPA, the Ukrainian side presented a master plan and feasibility studies for port reconstruction.
The talks highlighted three key priorities: rebuilding port infrastructure, upgrading specialized fleets, and implementing advanced digital management systems.
Following the meeting, the two sides agreed to cooperate on concrete projects, seek financing, and outline practical steps for implementation.
The agreement follows recent efforts by Ukraine to attract international investment into its port sector. Earlier this year, USPA showcased opportunities for foreign partners at the Polish-Ukrainian business forum in Odesa.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukraine signed a memorandum of cooperation with Qatari logistics operator QTerminals and its Ukrainian subsidiary paving the way for the resumption of operations at the strategically important Olvia seaport in the Mykolaiv region.
