Ukraine Strikes Deal with IRIS-T Manufacturer to Triple Deliveries

Ukraine has signed a memorandum with Germany's Diehl Defence, the manufacturer of the IRIS-T air defence system, which provides for a threefold increase in the supply of missiles and air defence systems, Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov said on Facebook.
‘We have signed a memorandum of understanding with Diehl Defence, the manufacturer of the IRIS-T system, which is a crucial part of Ukraine’s air defense shield... The memorandum also provides for a threefold increase in the supply of missiles and air defense systems,’ the minister wrote.
He added that the signed agreement paves the way for large industrial projects that will strengthen the capabilities of Ukraine's air defence.
As The Gaze reported, in December, Germany announced that it had provided Ukraine with Leopard 1 A5 tanks, IRIS-T SLM/SLS air defence systems, and Patriot launchers. In particular, Germany handed over to Ukraine the IRIS-T SLM (medium-range) air defence missile system with missiles, as well as the IRIS-T SLS (short-range). The military assistance package also included two Patriot launchers.
