Ukraine Suffers Another Massive Russian Missile Strike at Christmas; Poland Scrambles Fighter Jets
On Christmas Eve, Ukraine suffered another massive Russian missile attack on its energy sector.
‘Today, Putin deliberately chose Christmas to attack. What could be more inhumane? More than 70 missiles, including ballistic missiles, and more than a hundred attack drones. The targets are our energy infrastructure. They continue to fight for a blackout in Ukraine,’ said President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that one of the Russian missiles flew into Ukraine from Moldova.
Due to another massive Russian attack on Ukraine, Poland has sent military aircraft into the sky, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reports on social media platform X.
‘Due to the air attack of the Russian Federation, which can hit objects located in western Ukraine, military aircraft have begun operating in our airspace,’ the statement said.
The Operational Command notes that combat aircraft, ground-based air defence and radar reconnaissance systems have been put on alert in Poland.
The forces and assets are being deployed to ensure the security of the territories adjacent to Ukraine.
On the night of 25 December, an air alert was declared throughout Ukraine due to the threat of Russian attack drones attacking Ukraine again. Russian troops also launched Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea.
