Ukraine to Help Czechia Overcome Consequences of Floods
Ukraine will help the Czech Republic overcome the consequences of large-scale floods. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree to provide humanitarian aid to Czechia. This was reported on the website of the President of Ukraine.
‘In order to help overcome the consequences of the emergency situation in the Czech Republic as a result of the floods, in accordance with Article 10 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Humanitarian Aid’, I hereby decide to provide humanitarian aid to the Czech Republic,’ the decree reads.
Zelenskyy instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to deal with this issue.
The amount of the aid and its nature are not specified.
In September, it became known that Ukraine had donated industrial dehumidifiers to the Czech Republic, which suffered from large-scale floods.
Prior to that, Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha to offer neighbouring countries the assistance of Ukrainian rescuers in dealing with the aftermath of the floods caused by extreme rainfall.
As The Gaze reported, as of mid-September, heavy rains and flooding have claimed at least 17 lives in Central and Eastern Europe.
