Ukrainian-Bulgarian Film Wins Silver Award at Hollywood Festival
The Ukrainian-Bulgarian film 'Krai Riky' has won a silver award at the Hollywood Independent Filmmaker Awards and Festival in the category of 'Feature Film 2024: Drama.'
This was announced by the Ukrainian State Film Agency on its official Facebook page.
According to the agency, the film was created with the support of the State Film Agency of Ukraine, the company Magic Mount, and Odesa Film Studio. The director of the film is Vasil Barkov from Bulgaria.
The storyline takes place in Vylkove, Odesa region, often referred to as the 'Ukrainian Venice.' Amid picturesque canals and Lipovan traditions, a Bulgarian man named Fori experiences dramatic events, finds true love, and discovers a place he can call home.
Previously, other Ukrainian filmmakers also gained international recognition. The directors of the documentary 'Porcelain War' about the war in Ukraine, Slava Leontyev and Brendan Bellomo, were nominated for the Directors Guild of America Award.
