Ukrainian Delegation Arrives in Washington to Push for Defense Aid, Sanctions, and Reconstruction Funding

A senior Ukrainian delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko has arrived in the United States for high-stakes talks aimed at strengthening Ukraine-U.S. cooperation on defense, sanctions, and postwar recovery.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to Andriy Yermak’s post on social media.
The delegation includes key figures from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the Office of the President, including Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak. According to Yermak, the agenda in Washington is multifaceted and urgent.
“Our agenda is comprehensive and focused on Ukraine’s most urgent priorities,” Yermak announced. “We’re discussing expanded military assistance, updates from the front line, and tighter sanctions on Russia, particularly through the legislative initiative led by Senator Lindsey Graham.”
One of the delegation’s top goals is to finalize and promote the implementation of the Ukraine Recovery Investment Fund, a bilateral agreement designed to channel international capital into Ukraine’s reconstruction.
The talks will also address the forced deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia – a matter Kyiv continues to raise in international forums, as well as Russian disinformation campaigns, particularly those involving religious institutions and narratives.
Yermak confirmed that meetings are planned with senior figures across the political spectrum, including members of former President Donald Trump’s team. “We will brief them on our recent talks in Istanbul and make clear how Moscow is stalling any genuine peace process to prolong the war,” he said. “Ukraine speaks with facts, and the truth is on our side.”
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously announced that the delegation would also advance proposals for a bilateral defense agreement and a potential free trade arrangement with the U.S.
