Ukrainian Film Demiurge to Be Premiered at Estonian Documentary Film Festival
The 38th International Documentary Film Festival in Pärnu, Estonia, will host the premiere of the Ukrainian film 'Demiurge' directed by Olha Semak.

‘Demiurge is a story about a rural amateur theatre in Volyn (a region in Ukraine). In search of overcoming a personal crisis, the capital's actor Petro returns to his native village to create a theatre with his fellow villagers and prove to himself what he is still capable of,’ the statement reads.
It is noted that the film has entered the main competition and will compete for the main award of the festival - the Estonian People's Prize, which has been awarded since 1999 in cooperation with the Estonian National Television. The best film is chosen by the viewers through voting.
The film was produced by Metropolis.
The Pärnu International Documentary Film Festival is the oldest film forum in the Baltic States. Every year, fifty films are screened here, focusing on social stories, psychological dramas, problems of indigenous peoples, extraordinary heroes, and any manifestations of folk and professional art.
The festival will take place from 6 to 20 October: 6-13 October in Pärnu, 13-20 October in other Estonian cities.
