Ukrainian Government Resigns

The Ukrainian parliament voted to dismiss Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and his Cabinet after his five-year term in office.
The Gaze writes about it, referring to a post by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on social media.
According to him, the draft resolution was supported by 261 MPs.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal submitted his resignation on 15 July. His dismissal automatically entails the dismissal of the entire government.
At the same time, the Ukrainian law on martial law, which is currently in force in the country, contains a provision on the impossibility of terminating the powers of the Cabinet of Ministers during martial law.
According to media reports, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to nominate the current Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko for the post of the next prime minister.
Instead of Svyrydenko, the current First Deputy Minister Oleksiy Sobolev is expected to be appointed to head the Ministry of Economy.
The head of state also said that he is considering the current Minister of Defence Rustem Umerov for the position of Ukraine's ambassador to the United States.
Zelenskyy also said that Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal's experience will be useful in the future in the position of Minister of Defence.
