Ukrainian MFA: Coming Days Will Show Whether Russia Is Committed to Peace

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha says that Ukraine is still waiting for Russia's response to a proposal for a 30-day general ceasefire amid a fictitious ‘Easter truce’.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to his tweet on X.
Sybiha noted that on the eve of and during 20 April, Russia did reduce its military activity somewhat, but continued to attack Ukrainian positions, to which Ukraine responded in kind.
‘However, the main issue is that yesterday Ukraine proposed to extend the ceasefire after midnight. We are ready for a 30-day complete ceasefire if Russia reciprocates,’ he stressed.
The Foreign Minister noted that Moscow has not yet commented on Kyiv's proposal.
‘Russia's actions after midnight, tomorrow and throughout the week will show Russia's true attitude to the US peace efforts and the proposal for a 30-day complete ceasefire. They will show whether Russia is serious about peace or whether Putin's statements yesterday were just manipulations,’ Sybiha concluded.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on Saturday, Vladimir Putin announced an ‘Easter ceasefire’ that supposedly meant a halt to all hostilities in Ukraine from the evening of 19 April to midnight on 21 April, but almost immediately violated it.
