Ukrainian President Arrives in Davos for the World Economic Forum
On Monday, January 15, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Switzerland for a working visit. As part of his visit, he intends to meet with the country's leaders and participate in the World Economic Forum in Davos. He will focus on negotiations in Bern with the heads of both chambers of the Swiss parliament, party and faction leaders, as well as Swiss President Viola Amherd. President Zelensky shared this information on Twitter.
"I express gratitude to Switzerland for its consistent support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. I believe that Switzerland's participation in the 'Formula for Peace' and its relevant experience can help bring our vision of a just peace closer. I will also discuss the return of Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russia, sanctions, the use of frozen Russian assets, humanitarian demining, financial assistance, and recovery," wrote the Ukrainian president.
Zelensky also announced that during his participation in the Davos Forum, he plans to hold important bilateral meetings with representatives of the EU and NATO. The purpose of these meetings is to support the dynamics of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration. Additionally, he plans to meet with leaders of other countries and representatives of major corporations to strengthen Ukraine's defense and economic resilience.
The Ukrainian president's speech is scheduled for the second day of the forum, January 16. He will address participants within the panel "Achieving Security and Cooperation in a Fractured World." Volodymyr Zelensky's speech is scheduled for 14:15 local time.
Bloomberg, citing its own sources, also reported that the Ukrainian president will meet with the executive director of one of the leading American banks, JPMorgan's Jamie Dimon, in Davos. JPMorgan has advised Zelensky on attracting private capital for various reconstruction projects.
It's worth noting that in Davos, another meeting of national security advisors from 83 countries took place regarding the Ukrainian "peace formula," discussing Ukraine's demands to end the war with Russia. The meeting, held on January 14, was the fourth convened by Kyiv to advance its peaceful proposals, including the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from its territory.
