Ukrainian search and rescue team of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) has been recognized as the most powerful in the world among all members of the INSARAG international network.

The Gaze reports on it, referring to the Media Center Ukraine on Telegram.

The Ukrainian heavy-duty search and rescue team (HUSAR MRC Ukraine) successfully passed the INSARAG recertification in Gdańsk (Poland) and was recognized as the most powerful among all international teams.

INSARAG is a global network created under the auspices of the UN in 1991 after a series of large-scale earthquakes, which brings together governmental and non-governmental structures to combat the consequences of disasters.

Specialists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine confirmed their readiness to act in accordance with international standards and participate in the elimination of large-scale emergencies around the world.

By participating in INSARAG, Ukrainian rescuers have gained access to the European network without additional certification and can quickly join international operations.

“Ukrainian specialists have gained extensive practical experience in wartime, and international experts have recognized our team as the most powerful among all teams in the world,” emphasized Volodymyr Demchuk, Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service.

Team leader Maksym Maievskyi specified that the group consists of 67 primary and 67 reserve rescuers capable of performing all types of work in accordance with international standards.

Participation in INSARAG provides Ukraine not only with access to global knowledge and standards, but also with the opportunity to become an active participant in the global disaster response system.

As The Gaze informed on September 28, a wave of Russian drone strikes on Kyiv overnight and into the morning left four people dead, including a 12-year-old girl, and at least thirteen others injured.
