Ukrainians Around the World Create Living ‘Chains of Unity’ on Ukraine's Day of Unity
Ukrainians around the world are uniting in living ‘Chains of Unity’ - a symbolic reminder of the Day of Unity of Ukraine, which is celebrated annually on 22 January.
In this way, Ukrainians abroad draw the world's attention to the historic event of 1919 - the proclamation of the Act of Unification between the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Western Ukrainian People's Republic.
Wherever they are, Ukrainians demonstrate the unwavering unity of the nation, despite the brutal full-scale war waged by Russia against Ukraine.
This time, Ukrainian ‘Chains of Unity’ were created in the Netherlands:
The Netherlands, Dam Square in Amsterdam;
Czech Republic (Prague, Charles Bridge);
Latvia (Riga, Kronvalda Park);
United Kingdom (London, Westminster Bridge);
Italy (Ischia);
Hungary (Törökbalint).
Ukrainians abroad keep strong ties with each other, with Ukrainians in Ukraine, and with their homeland, demonstrating the unconditional power of unity.
On the occasion of the Unity Day of Ukraine, which is celebrated annually on 22 January, a number of cultural, artistic and educational events will take place, including exhibitions, lectures, workshops and other activities designed to remind us of the importance of the spiritual unity of Ukrainians in the struggle for independence.
