US Vice President Says War in Ukraine Unlikely to End Soon

US Vice President J.D. Vance does not believe that Russia's war against Ukraine can end anytime soon.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to his interview with Fox News.
Vance noted that the US administration is now facing the question of how to help Russia and Ukraine ‘find a compromise’ to end the war, which has been going on for more than three years.
However, according to him, ‘it is Russia and Ukraine that must come to an agreement and end this brutal conflict’.
‘This is not going to end anytime soon,’ Vance said.
‘Yes, of course, Ukrainians are outraged that they have been invaded. But are we going to continue to lose thousands and thousands of soldiers over a few kilometres of territory in one way or another?’ he said.
At the same time, the US Vice President expressed optimism about the prospects for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
‘It's hard to say ‘I'm sure’. The decision is up to Russia and Ukraine. We are just engaging them in a conversation. We are now at the point where we have to say enough is enough to the deaths of thousands and thousands of young people,’ Vance said.
In recent weeks, the Trump administration has been trying to force the ‘peace process’ between Ukraine and Russia and, according to media reports, has prepared a ‘final proposal’ for a peaceful settlement.
Among other things, the US is ready to recognise Russia's control over Ukrainian Crimea and ease sanctions against Moscow.
Later, Reuters got acquainted with the text of the proposals to end Russia's war against Ukraine, which were handed over to the US side by Ukrainian and European officials at the talks in London.
