Julie Davis to Serve as Acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine
Julie Davis will assume the role of Acting U.S. Ambassador in Kyiv starting May 5. She will represent the United States on behalf of President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

In this capacity, Davis will lead the Embassy’s diplomatic mission, working to strengthen U.S.-Ukraine relations. The Embassy highlighted her dedication to fostering peace, ending violence, and supporting the security.
The official statement, announcing the appointment of Davis, emphasized that she "will work diligently to end the war and stop the bloodshed, strengthening bilateral relations and making America and Ukraine safer, stronger, and more prosperous.”
Davis brings with her a wealth of experience in Eastern Europe and beyond. She previously served as the U.S. Ambassador to Belarus and as Special Envoy to Lithuania. Her diplomatic career also includes assignments in Georgia, Russia, and Ukraine.
In Washington, Davis held key roles such as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western Europe and the European Union in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs. She also served as Deputy Permanent Representative of the United States to NATO.
Her interim appointment follows the recent departure of Ambassador Bridget Brink, who resigned in April. According to media reports, Brink's decision came amid growing tensions with former President Donald Trump's administration.
Davis will lead the U.S. mission in Ukraine until a new ambassador is nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate.
