During his visit to Kyiv, US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy Keith Kellogg noted that diplomatic work on security guarantees for Ukraine is ongoing, complex, and requires active coordination with world leaders to end the war and achieve peace.

The Gaze reports on it, referring to Interfax-Ukraine.

“This is an interesting time. I think you have read and seen what is happening on the diplomatic front. It is very hard work... We are working very hard on this,” Kellogg said, calling Trump a “president of peace” who wants to end death and destruction.

Keith Kellogg recalled Trump's meeting with Putin in Alaska and talks with European leaders in the Oval Office, stressing that the process is moving quickly and should lead to security guarantees in the near future.

“This is work that is still ongoing,” he added.

Kellogg emphasized the significant losses in the war and the importance of ending it as quickly as possible in a fair and reasonable manner. He expressed hope that next year, during the 35th anniversary of Independence, Ukraine will be a peaceful country.

“Everything will be different, Ukraine will be a different country when we hold it next time,” Trump's Special Envoy said.

At the same time, he acknowledged that this is a very difficult task, which is understood both in Washington and among European leaders.

"It is very, very difficult to end the war. And that is roughly where we are now. But I think we should give credit to many people, whether it be President Trump or Macron from France, Merz from Germany, Meloni from Italy, Starmer from Britain, or Stubb from Finland. Everyone there understands the importance of peace in this region...," Kellogg said.

It is worth recalling that on August 24, US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Keith Kellogg, visited Ukraine and took part in the Independence Day celebrations. President Zelensky noted his contribution to cooperation and support for Ukraine's sovereignty, awarding him the Order of Merit, First Class. This is his second visit this summer.
