We United 50 Nations to Stand by Ukraine, – US President Biden
Current US President Joe Biden said that his administration had strengthened America's position on the world stage and provided the new team led by Donald Trump with the foundation to protect the bright future of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
He said this during a speech at the US State Department on the country's foreign policy, Ukrinform reports.
‘When Putin started his invasion, I had two tasks. The first was to unite the world in defence of Ukraine, and the second was to avoid a war between two nuclear powers. We have fulfilled both,’ Biden said.
He stressed that today Ukraine remains a free, independent country with the potential for a bright future.
‘And we have laid the foundation for the next administration so that they can protect the bright future of the Ukrainian people,’ the US president said.
He also stated that now that his presidential term is coming to an end, he can tell the American people that the United States is stronger and its adversaries are weaker than four years ago.
Biden reiterated that Putin has not achieved any strategic goal in Ukraine and was unable to capture Kyiv in a matter of days, as Russia claimed before the full-scale invasion.
‘The truth is that I have been standing in the centre of Kyiv since the beginning of this war, not him,’ Biden added.
He also stressed that Putin has not succeeded in destroying the unity of NATO and other US allies and partners.
‘We have united 50 nations to stand with Ukraine - and for the first time not only in Europe, but also in Asia. After all, countries in Asia realise that what is happening in Ukraine matters to them,’ the US President stressed.
