Zelensky: 90 Years Ago, the World Couldn't See the Truth, Now There Are Only Those Who Choose Not to Notice
During the time of the Holodomor, the world couldn't fully see the truth. Today, amidst the war with Russia, there are only those who choose not to notice it.
This statement was made by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Holodomors.
In his address, the President thanked everyone who, together with Ukraine, restores historical truth and justice, naming things by their names and not allowing those guilty of crimes to hide behind falsehoods of alleged non-involvement.
"90 years ago, the world couldn't fully see what was really happening. Now there are no those who do not see. There are only those who choose not to notice. There are few of them. And there will be even fewer. The truth paves its way. Along this path, the world must unite and condemn the crimes of the past. The world must unite and stop the crimes of today," stated Volodymyr Zelensky.
Additionally, Zelensky noted that on this night, Russian terrorists resorted to deliberate terror against Ukraine on the eve of the Day of Remembrance of Holodomor victims. Russia takes pride in its ability to kill.
"More than 70 'Shaheds' on the night before the Day of Remembrance of Holodomor-genocide victims. Deliberate terror. Exactly at this time. The leadership of Russia takes pride in its ability to kill. Our soldiers shot down most of the drones. Unfortunately, not all," said Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the President, Ukraine will continue to work on strengthening its anti-air defense and unite the world in defense against Russian terror.
On the night of November 25, an air raid alert was announced in Kyiv. Authorities warned of a Russian drone attack and urged Kyiv residents not to ignore the air raid alert.
According to the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykola Oleshchuk, 71 UAVs were destroyed this night. The enemy deployed 75 drones, which marked a record number since the start of the full-scale invasion. Kyiv was the main direction of the strike.
This year, Ukraine and the world commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Ukraine experienced three periods of artificial famine: 1921-1923, 1932-1933, and 1946-1947. The most tragic of them was the famine of 1932-1933, as the mass physical extermination of Ukrainian farmers was a deliberate act of terrorism by the Russian totalitarian system.
