Russia is deliberately waging war in the new year: on New Year's Eve, more than 200 attack drones were launched against Ukraine. Most of them were shot down, and I thank all our military personnel who repelled this attack. They struck the Volyn, Rivne, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions. The targets were our energy infrastructure. Where necessary, rescue workers are providing assistance, and energy companies are working to restore power after the strikes. I thank everyone who is involved in dealing with the aftermath.

The killings must stop – there can be no pause in protecting life. If the strikes do not stop even during the New Year holidays, the delivery of air defence systems cannot be delayed. 

Our allies have the necessary equipment in stock. We expect that everything that was agreed with the United States at the end of December for our defence will arrive on time. I am grateful to everyone for their willingness to support Ukraine and work for our common security.
