President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held detailed talks with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, during which they discussed the current diplomatic situation and issues of defense support for Ukraine.

The Gaze reports on it, referring to Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Facebook.

The Ukrainian Head of State expressed gratitude to Sweden for its significant contribution to the security of our country, emphasizing that this year the Swedish government has allocated $4 billion to help defend Ukraine.

Following this, Zelenskyy updated his counterpart on the situation at the front lines, which led the parties to engage in a deeper discussion of the diplomatic aspects of the conflict. Sweden, together with other Northern European nations, remains firmly committed to achieving a swift, fair, and reliable end to the war, emphasizing the need for increased pressure on Russia, insisting that Russia must take the first step to end the aggression it initiated.

“We discussed possible formats for meetings and agreed with Ulf to make appropriate visits in the near future”, wrote Zelenskyy.

In addition, the parties considered the prospects for the development of Ukrainian military aviation. Currently, the combat platforms on which Ukraine's air fleet will be based in the next stages are being determined.

“We are currently determining which combat platforms our air fleet will operate on in the next stages. We agreed that our teams – Ukraine and Sweden – will work on this issue in detail,” the President of Ukraine stated.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that cooperation with Sweden and other partners will remain key to strengthening Ukraine's defense positions.

As The Gaze informed earlier, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark have jointly committed approximately $500 million to fund a new NATO initiative aimed at delivering U.S.-manufactured military equipment to Ukraine.
