Zelenskyy Updates on Progress of Mineral Agreement with the U.S

During a press conference on April 22, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced significant progress in the partnership between Ukraine and the United States, following the signing of a memorandum concerning rare earth minerals. This development marks a crucial step in strengthening economic ties and enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to a broadcast on the FREEdom TV channel.
Zelenskyy stated that legal teams from both sides are currently working on finalizing the agreement, with the next steps involving the formal signing of the document and its subsequent ratification by the Ukrainian parliament.
“Our teams have demonstrated constructive collaboration through extensive discussions day and night. The Vice Prime Minister signed the memorandum with the Secretary of State, showcasing our readiness for this partnership. This is a victory for both countries,” Zelenskyy remarked.
The Ukrainian president also outlined that the next phase would involve the ratification of the agreement in Ukraine’s legislature. He reassured that a strong American company would be involved in the partnership, one that would receive backing from the White House. This, he explained, would ensure that no one could accuse the agreement of lacking transparency or fairness.
In addition, Zelenskyy revealed that the lawyers from both countries were working closely to finalize the details of the agreement. He emphasized the collaboration between the two legal teams and stressed the importance of getting the deal right. This rare earth minerals agreement marks a significant milestone in Ukraine's relationship with the US, and both sides are eager to see it come to fruition.
As the negotiations progress, Zelenskyy also expressed his desire to meet with the US President Donald Trump. The Ukrainian leader hopes to meet Trump during the funeral of Pope Francis, which will be attended by global leaders. Zelenskyy believes this meeting could play a pivotal role in advancing further discussions on the Ukraine-US relationship.
