U.S. Aims for Russia-Ukraine Peace Deal Within Trump's First 100 Days

The United States is actively seeking to broker a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine within the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s second term.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to CNN.
According to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, there is a growing perception among European diplomats that Washington is exerting strong pressure to finalize a deal in the coming days.
“There are a lot of moving parts currently, but one thing is clear, the feeling that the US are pushing for that deal within 100 days,” the official stated.
This timeline sets April 30 as the target date, marking Trump’s 100th day back in office. As part of ongoing negotiations, the U.S. has reportedly presented a one-page framework proposal to Ukrainian officials in Paris last week, described by some insiders as a "final offer."
The proposal allegedly includes provisions that would formally recognize Russia’s control over Crimea and offer reduced sanctions against Moscow – an approach that clashes directly with Kyiv’s longstanding position. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly affirmed that Ukraine will never recognize Russia’s annexation of Crimea, which remains internationally acknowledged as Ukrainian territory.
Speaking to CNN, the European official acknowledged the political sensitivity surrounding the peninsula. “It’s hard to envision a deal that treats Crimea as anything other than under de facto Russian control. But that’s a very difficult position for Zelensky,” the source said.
Trump himself weighed in, accusing Zelensky of stalling the peace process through "provocative remarks" about Crimea. “Crimea was lost years ago,” Trump said, criticizing Zelensky’s refusal to compromise.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s absence from a key diplomatic meeting in London this week has also drawn attention, with analysts suggesting it reflects Washington’s intention to handle negotiations on its own terms.
As The Gaze reported earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron's office said that European countries believe that any peace agreement to end the war waged by Russia must include respect for Ukraine's territorial integrity.
