During the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York, following a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Albania announced its accession to the declaration of the Group of Seven (G7) countries regarding "security guarantees" for Ukraine before it becomes a member of NATO.

This was reported on the official page of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

"The President thanked Albania for joining the Joint G7 Declaration in support of Ukraine. This document, in particular, serves as the basis for further bilateral agreements between Ukraine and its partners",- the statement said.

Albania has become the 29th country to join the security guarantees of the Group of Seven, which were signed by members of the group during this year's NATO summit in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.

In addition, during the negotiations, the parties signed a Joint Declaration in support of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration, in which Albania became the 25th signatory country.

In the published document, Albania emphasizes its unwavering support for Kyiv on the path to NATO membership and its commitment to continue providing comprehensive support to Ukraine in its efforts to fully restore territorial integrity.

"The Republic of Albania will continue to provide strong and effective political and material support to Ukraine from NATO member countries, aimed at enhancing the ability of the Ukrainian state to effectively defend its territorial integrity",- the Declaration states.

Furthermore, the Republic of Albania has committed to participate in the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine alongside international organizations, allies, and partners after the end of the war.

At the same time, the Albanian side emphasized its continued support for Ukraine in political, military, technical, defense, and humanitarian spheres, both independently and within the framework of international cooperation through NATO, the United Nations, and other formats.

It is worth noting that the day before it became known that Albania had handed over 22 American M1224 MaxxPro MRAP wheeled armoured personnel carriers and 82mm mortar shells to Ukraine.

Earlier, The Gaze reported that Montenegro and Slovenia had joined the Group of Seven "security guarantees".
