Another Terrorist Attack by Russia on Ukraine: 5 Killed and 25 Injured in Kharkiv
In the early hours of 31 May, Russia launched yet another terrorist missile attack on Kharkiv. Occupying forces fired S-300 and S-400 missiles from Belgorod Oblast in Russia, targeting civilian infrastructure and residential areas in the city. The attack resulted in five fatalities and 25 injuries, as reported by Ukrinform.
One of the Russian missiles struck a five-story residential building, causing a significant number of casualties. Many residents were at home sleeping and did not have enough time to reach shelters after the air raid siren was sounded.
"The number of casualties has increased, as another man's body was recovered from the rubble. The total death toll from last night's Russian terror attack stands at five," stated Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Military Administration.
The State Emergency Service reported extensive damage and fires caused by the Russian attack.
"Various locations experienced destruction and fires in residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure. There was also a wildfire in the pine forest undergrowth. In total, five separate fires occurred at different addresses, covering an area of about 1200 square metres," said Kharkiv's rescue services.
It should be noted that Russia continually conducts terrorist attacks on residential areas and civilian infrastructure in Kharkiv. The proximity of Kharkiv to the Russian border means that there are only a few minutes between the launch of missiles or guided bombs from Russia and their impact, leaving residents little time to find shelter even when air raid alerts are sounded.
Previously, The Gaze reported on a terrorist attack by Russia on Kharkiv where occupiers targeted a large construction hypermarket with guided bombs. Over 200 people were inside at the time. Initially, 13 fatalities were reported, which later increased to 19, with nearly 70 people sustaining various degrees of injury.
