Bosnia and Herzegovina Confirms That Russia Used Bosnia to train Moldovans to Organise Mass Unrest
Bosnia and Herzegovina's Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic has confirmed that Russia used his country's territory to train Moldovan citizens to organise protests and street actions.
This was reported by Radio Europa Liberă.
Konakovich said that his country needs external support to counter Russia's ‘negative influence in the heart of Europe’,
Speaking to reporters in Sarajevo, he said he had ‘no concrete evidence’ that the training was ‘military in nature’, but that ‘exercises related to organising protests or street actions’ had definitely taken place.
‘There is evidence. I have personally seen such groups operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina, once again confirming Russia's negative influence in the heart of Europe, from which Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot defend itself,’ Konakovic said.
According to Moldovan law enforcement officials, starting in May 2024, pro-Russian Moldovan politician Ilan Shor, under the guise of the Eurasia NGO, funded a trip for more than 100 young people to the Moscow region under the pretext of ‘cultural and artistic’ goals. However, there they were taught how to act at protests to create mass unrest.
According to law enforcement, some of these young people were trained in Russia. This was done by instructors associated with the private military company Wagner. The other part was sent to partisan camps in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
The main part of the training took place from early September to mid-October.
