Bulgaria to Host the World's First Artificial Intelligence Olympiad
Bulgaria will become the first country in the world to hold an artificial intelligence Olympiad.
It is reported by Novinite.
The Olympiad will be held from 10 to 14 August with the support of renowned universities and large tech companies from around the world.
About 200 students from all over the world will take part in the event.
According to Galina Tsokova, Minister of Education and Science, 44 teams have already confirmed their participation, including two from Bulgaria.
The co-author of the Olympiad, Yelena Marinova, explained that the competition will have a theoretical and a practical stage. The theoretical part will focus on advances in artificial intelligence, covering topics such as natural language processing, machine learning, and computer vision. The practical part will include working with AI tools to create specific projects.
The Olympiad will also include parallel events, some of which will be open to the general public.
As The Gaze previously reported, a law regulating artificial intelligence rules, the so-called Artificial Intelligence Act, came into force in the European Union on 1 August.
