The Czech government has approved an extension of its humanitarian, stabilization, and economic assistance program for Ukraine, pledging to provide more than €40 million each year between 2026 and 2030.

The Gaze reports this, referring to Novinky.

According to Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský, the program will channel about 1 billion Czech crowns annually, with the funds distributed by the foreign ministry in cooperation with other state institutions.

The initiative is designed to deepen bilateral cooperation and open opportunities for private, non-profit, and academic institutions to take part in Ukraine’s long-term reconstruction.

The aid package covers a wide range of priorities.

Prague has pledged continued support for Ukrainian refugees in Moldova, emergency medical assistance, and access to housing, education, and energy resources.

Other priorities include demining agricultural land, boosting cybersecurity, constructing underground medical and educational facilities, and advancing democratic reforms in Ukraine.

Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský emphasized that supporting Ukraine is not only a moral duty but also a matter of Czech national security.

“Support for Ukraine is key for Czechia. It helps Ukraine itself but also strengthens our own security. It is important that we assist not only militarily, but also with humanitarian aid and reconstruction. This is in our interests. We want Czech companies to be involved in Ukraine’s recovery and to have a long-term presence there,” Lipavský said.

In addition, officials pointed to the experience of the 2023–2025 program, noting that the extended framework will ensure sustained support through the end of the decade.

In August, Czech President Petr Pavel also underlined Prague’s readiness to contribute to peacekeeping missions in Ukraine, highlighting the country’s active role since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

As The Gaze previously reported, in a landmark moment of grassroots support for Kyiv’s defense, a Czech volunteer initiative delivered a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter to Ukraine.
