Denmark and the Czech Republic Have Agreed on a Joint Military Aid Package for Ukraine

The Ministries of Defense of Denmark and the Czech Republic have announced the preparation of the first joint military assistance package for Ukraine, which includes infantry fighting vehicles and tanks. This equipment will be provided in the "coming months," according to the Czech Ministry of Defense.
The military equipment for Ukraine will be sourced from Czech private companies and manufactured in Czech factories with funding from the Danish government. In total, as part of the first joint delivery, Denmark and the Czech Republic plan to provide around 50 infantry fighting vehicles and tanks, 2,500 pistols, 7,000 rifles, 500 light machine guns, 500 sniper rifles, as well as electronic warfare and reconnaissance equipment, including a significant quantity of large-caliber ammunition.
The package includes both modern Czech weaponry and refurbished equipment that is already in use by the Ukrainian armed forces.
Denmark's Minister of Defense, Troels Lund Poulsen, emphasized the importance of this equipment transfer and the collaboration between Denmark and the Czech Republic. He noted that this cooperation will enable continued military support to Ukraine not only in the coming months but also in 2024 and beyond if needed.
"This is a substantial equipment delivery in high demand in Ukraine. This transfer became possible due to exemplary cooperation between Denmark and the Czech Republic," commented Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
Both countries also plan to supply Ukraine with 500 large-caliber machine guns, 280 recoilless rifles, 7,000 anti-tank weapons, 10,000 hand grenades, and 60 mortar systems, as well as a significant quantity of anti-drone systems.
It's worth noting that during the annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Copenhagen, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced her country's intention to expand the coalition of nations providing military support to Ukraine, including Western F-16 fighter aircraft.
Frederiksen called on other NATO member countries to join this initiative and provide combat aircraft to Ukraine. She emphasized that as long as Ukrainian forces are willing to fight for their country's freedom, NATO member countries must show determination and ensure that the transatlantic alliance remains supportive in the face of military aggression in Ukraine.
