The American Television Academy has announced the winners of the Emmy 2024 Awards, which took place on the night of 15-16 September in Los Angeles, USA. This year's critics' favourite was the Shogun series about an English sailor in Japan. It received a record 18 statuettes.

It was reported by Variety.

The series broke the record for the number of wins in one season. As far as we know, Shogun also became the first film to be nominated 25 times. It was followed by another well-known series, The Bear, which broke its own record with 11 wins.

Many lesser-known actors also won at the Emmy 2024. Lisa Colón-Zayas, 52, who played the role of Tina Marrero in Bear, admitted after receiving the statuette that she had not prepared a speech because she did not expect to win.

Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series - Billy Crudup, The Morning Show;

Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series - Elizabeth Debicki, The Crown;

Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series - Ebon Moss-Bachrach, The Bear;

Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series - Lisa Colón-Zayas, The Bear.

'Shogun' is an American historical drama miniseries based on the 1975 novel of the same name by James Clavell. The film tells the story of a risk-taking English sailor shipwrecked in Japan, Lord Toranaga, a clever, powerful daimyo at odds with his dangerous political rivals, and Lady Mariko, a woman with invaluable skills but shameful family ties who must prove her worth and loyalty.
