EU Earmarks €100 Billion for Ukraine in 2028-2034 Budget
The European Union's long-term budget (Multiannual Financial Framework, MFF) for 2028-2034 allocates €100 billion to support Ukraine, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced after a meeting of the institution in Brussels on 16 July.
The Gaze writes about it, referring to European Pravda.
‘We are allocating €100 billion for Ukraine,’ von der Leyen said during the presentation of the draft budget.
She recalled that there is a ‘Ukraine facility’ worth €50 billion.
‘These amounts are slowly but surely decreasing, and therefore we are proposing €100 billion to replenish the fund for Ukraine in order to support recovery,’ the European Commission President emphasised.
After the European Commission publishes the draft budget, the European Parliament and the European Council will have to express their position on it.
The multi-year budget for 2028-2034 must be approved by the end of 2027.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the European Commission has agreed to grant Ukraine access to the Roam like at Home policy, which will allow Ukrainians to use mobile communications in the EU without additional costs.
