EU to Deliver Full 2 Million Ammunition Target to Ukraine by October, Says Kallas

The European Union plans to provide Ukraine with 100% of the intended 2 million rounds of ammunition by October, having already achieved 80% of this goal, EU High Representative Kaja Kallas said.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Interfax-Ukraine.
During her speech in the European Parliament, Kallas stressed that by October, the EU plans to fully meet its goal of supplying Ukraine with 2 million rounds of ammunition so that Ukraine can effectively defend its territory and civilian population.
"Currently, they (EU member states) have also provided 80% of the ammunition from our target of 2 million rounds. By October, we aim to provide 100%. All this is so that Ukraine can defend itself, protect its civilian population, and repel aggression," Kallas said.
She noted that the intensification of Russian attacks was Moscow's response to international peace initiatives.
The Gaze previously informed that during the latest Russian shelling of Ukrainian territory, dozens of people were killed and wounded, and the building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was damaged for the first time.
“Putin is not interested in peace. And he will not stop the war until he is forced to. That is why the European Union and our member states have provided nearly €169 billion in financial support since the start of the full-scale war in 2022,” Kaja Kallas stated.
She added that this aid covers more than €63 billion in military aid to Ukraine since the start of the war, with member states already allocating a record €25 billion this year alone.
The EU representative also recalled the economic sanctions against Russia and the reduction of the European market for Russian energy carriers.
According to her, Ukraine's courage, combined with international support, has already prevented Russia from achieving its military goals, but this is not enough.
“The only option we have is to increase pressure on Russia, provide more support to Ukraine, and prepare for the next day,” Kallas concluded.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the European Union is preparing a 19th package of sanctions against Russia that could target its energy sector, financial services, and third countries helping Moscow evade existing restrictions.
