€3 Million from Denmark to Modernize Vocational Training in Ukraine

Denmark has joined the international Skills4Recovery initiative, allocating nearly €3 million to the development of vocational education in Ukraine in 2025–2026 to support economic recovery and prepare personnel for European integration.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Ukrinform.
Danish Ambassador to Ukraine Ole Egberg Mikkelsen announced Denmark's assistance in modernizing and developing vocational education in Ukraine at the annual conference “Skills4Recovery: Workforce Development on Ukraine's Path to the EU.”
The conference brought together high-level representatives from the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada, the embassies of Germany, Poland, Estonia, and Denmark, and the EU Delegation to Ukraine to create opportunities for the formation of a skilled workforce in Ukraine necessary for economic recovery.
According to the diplomat, the partners' contribution to the program includes not only financial support but also the exchange of experience. Denmark has significant experience in retraining workers and attracting vulnerable groups, such as pensioners and people with disabilities, to the labor market.
“We see this as helping Ukraine recover, strengthen its economic capabilities, and prepare for EU accession. This is the main goal we want to achieve,” the diplomat said.
Notably, the Skills4Recovery program aims to strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian vocational and pre-higher education institutions.
Its main goal is to train personnel who will meet the current needs of the economy and contribute to the country's recovery and Ukraine's integration into the EU.
Skills4Recovery is co-financed by the European Union, Germany, Poland, and Estonia. It is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Solidarity Fund PL (SFPL). It will run until June 2026 and covers all regions of Ukraine.
As The Gaze informed earlier, Ukraine and Denmark are set to deepen their defense cooperation with a major new project under President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Build with Ukraine initiative.
