Europe Needs Strong Defence Fund for Ukraine: Three-Day Support March Held in Czechia
Civic activists have held a three-day march across Czech cities in support of the creation of a strong European Defence Fund for Ukraine. This is important for the awakening of Europe and the preservation of European security and peace, according to the organisers of the march, the Steps for Democracy Ceska Lipa.
The march is also organised by the Citizen's Guide and Voice of Ukraine initiatives.
The march began on 3 October in the town of Ceska Lipa and ended on 5 October in Prague on Charles Bridge and Old Town Square.
According to the organisers, the march was aimed not only at expressing solidarity with the Ukrainian people, but also at encouraging European politicians to take real steps to support Ukraine.
Another goal of the march was to inspire people and prepare the conditions for an even longer European march in support of Ukraine - from Germany to Lviv in Ukraine.
The European March for Ukraine initiative calls on European politicians to create a common defence fund for Ukraine to end the war and to raise up to 100 billion euros a year.
