Situation in Ukraine Improves with Prospect of Ceasefire, Says Pavel

Czech President Petr Pavel has compared the situation in Ukraine in 2023 and 2025, noting that the situation in the country has become more stable amid upcoming peace talks. He said this in an interview for the Ukrainian 'United News' telethon.
At the same time, the Czech leader stressed that it is too early to talk about an immediate end to the war.
‘It seems that the situation is a little better than in 2023, when I came here and felt a little nervous about the course of events. Now, it seems that with the prospect of ceasefire and peace talks, the situation here seems more and more stable. But, of course, this is just my feeling,’ he said.
At the same time, Pavel noted that it is as difficult for Ukrainians as it was two years ago, as the situation at the front has not changed significantly.
‘The front line is still very, very long. Every day, the military suffers losses on the battlefield. Therefore, it is crucial not only for Ukraine, but also for the entire region and Europe to make every effort to end this war,’ the Czech president said.
As The Gaze previously reported, Czech President Petr Pavel paid an official visit to Kyiv on 21 March. During his visit to Odesa, Russian troops massively attacked this Ukrainian city with drones.
