The Russians are improving their weapons. Now, Russia's guided aerial bombs (KABs) have a longer range — they can strike targets up to 95 kilometres away. As a result, more and more frontline settlements in Ukraine are falling within the dangerous range of these bombs, according to Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko, founder of the charity fund ‘Close the Sky of Ukraine’.

The Gaze reports on this with reference to a broadcast on the FREEDOM TV channel.

‘The Russians are improving and modernising their weapons. At one time, we talked about the use of aerial bombs from a distance of 30-50 kilometres. In almost four years of war, the range of Russian aerial bombs has gradually increased to 70-90-95 kilometres,’ Romanenko said.

He noted that, unfortunately, these aerial bombs are effective and achieve their goals.

‘At the same time, the use of KABs also helps the Russian occupiers to ensure the safety of their aircraft and pilots who drop these aerial bombs on peaceful cities in Ukraine. This is generally a very serious weapon that deals heavy blows not only to Ukrainian cities and fortifications, but also to the Defence Forces, Ukrainian weapons, etc.,’ said the lieutenant general.

According to him, the Ukrainian side has been looking for ways to combat these weapons all this time.

"By the way, the American side has such weapons. But, unfortunately, the United States does not provide them to Ukraine. For example, JASSM missiles. This is a modern long-range cruise missile capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to a thousand kilometres with high accuracy. These missiles can be used to strike airfields with aircraft that drop KABs on Ukraine, or enterprises where these bombs are manufactured, or warehouses where they are stored. That is, to act preventively. Because shooting down a KAB in the air is a rather difficult task,’ concluded Ihor Romanenko.

Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the total losses of the Russian army since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine exceeded 992,000.

As The Gaze reported earlier, this night, Russia carried out a large-scale overnight aerial assault across Ukraine, striking multiple cities with drones and missiles and leaving dozens wounded and several dead. The most severe damage was recorded in Kyiv, where at least four people were killed and 20 injured in the capital's worst attack in recent weeks.
