Finland Accuses Russia of Airspace Violation

The Finnish Ministry of Defense reported that a Russian military aircraft violated Finnish airspace on June 10.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to Yle.
The suspected airspace violation occurred off the coast of Porvoo, east of the capital Helsinki.
Defense Minister Antti Hykkänen said that the Finnish Border Guard had launched an immediate investigation into the possible airspace violation.
On Wednesday, the Finnish Foreign Ministry said it had summoned a Russian diplomat over the alleged violation of Finnish airspace yesterday.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked the acting head of the Russian diplomatic mission to comment on the matter today,” the Finnish ministry said in a statement to Reuters.
This is the second such incident in less than three weeks: in May, two Russian military aircraft allegedly flew into Finnish territory, also off the coast of Porvoo. After that, Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen summoned Russian Ambassador to Finland Pavel Kuznetsov.
