President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held telephone conversations with the leaders of France and South Korea — Emmanuel Macron and Yun Sok Yol respectively. The head of the Ukrainian state specifically invited them to participate in the Global Peace Summit, and both leaders agreed to this proposal, as reported by the Office of the President of Ukraine.

During the conversation with Emmanuel Macron, the President of Ukraine thanked France for its important role in implementing the Ukrainian peace formula, particularly regarding nuclear security. The involvement of representatives from the Global South in the Summit was also discussed.

The presidents also discussed the situation on the frontlines and Ukraine's defence needs: strengthening air defence, additional artillery systems, and ammunition. The French leader strongly condemned the intensification of Russian strikes against Ukraine, especially targeting its energy infrastructure, as well as the current Russian offensive.

Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed France's determination to provide all necessary support "in the long term and together with all its partners" to overcome Russia's aggressive war. The President of France also informed his Ukrainian counterpart about arms deliveries scheduled for the coming days and weeks.

During the conversation with President of the Republic of Korea Yun Sok Yol, Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to his country for its principled support and assistance to Ukrainians. The discussion also touched on developing cooperation between the countries, particularly regarding humanitarian demining. Additionally, they discussed establishing a security guarantee system for Ukraine and the possibility of a security agreement.

Recall that The Gaze reported on May 12 that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a series of phone calls with political and spiritual leaders worldwide. Among them were President of Argentina Javier Milei, newly appointed Prime Minister of Iceland Bjarni Benediktsson, and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The head of the Ukrainian state personally invited them to participate in the Global Peace Summit, scheduled for June 15-16 in Switzerland, and informed them about the preparations for this event.
