France Pledges Support for Ukraine’s Cultural Heritage and Digitalization

Ukraine and France are entering a new level of cultural cooperation, focusing their efforts on preserving heritage, digitization, and promoting Ukrainian art in Europe.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine.
On September 23, Acting Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna met with French Ambassador to Ukraine Gaël Veyssière and Director of the French Institute in Kyiv Guillaume Aber.
The parties discussed strengthening cultural partnership and France's continued support for Ukraine in the field of culture.
France confirmed its readiness to develop cooperation in the areas of cultural heritage preservation, content digitization, and the promotion of Ukrainian art in Europe.
"We see great potential in deepening cooperation to promote Ukrainian culture. France has unique experience in this area and is ready to share its achievements. We also support Ukraine's participation in strategic initiatives that strengthen its cultural industry and international presence," said Gaël Veyssière.
Special attention was paid to issues related to the protection of Ukraine's cultural heritage, including the updating of protocols for the evacuation of cultural property.
Some specific areas of cooperation were also discussed: partnership with ARTE TV channel, Ukraine's participation in European cultural networks, involvement of French experts in ICCC projects, and the possibility of Ukrainian theater tours in France.
Tetiana Berezhna emphasized the importance of the results of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025) and invited France to join key initiatives — the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund, the Cultural Resilience Alliance, and the Cultural Recovery Platform.
As The Gaze informed earlier, France will host a landmark Ukrainian cultural season titled “Voyage to Ukraine” from December 2025 to March 2026, offering French audiences a vivid and immersive experience of Ukraine’s rich artistic heritage and contemporary cultural landscape.
