French Company Partners with Ukraine to Produce Interceptor Drones
French company Alta Ares, together with Ukrainian engineers, is launching serial production of interceptors.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to Militarnyi, citing Indigo Publications.
French company Alta Ares, which specializes in artificial intelligence for the defense sector, has launched serial production of unmanned interceptor drones in France and opened a representative office in Ukraine for closer cooperation with local developers.
The company has already joined the Ukrainian Technology Forces community, and the Ministry of Digital Transformation has welcomed the exchange of knowledge and experience.
“We welcome Alta Ares to the Ukrainian Technology Forces community. Thank you for your willingness to share your knowledge and learn from Ukrainian manufacturers,” noted in the Ministry.
Alta Ares' key product is the Pixel-Lock guidance system based on artificial intelligence, which detects, tracks, and intercepts air targets in real time — from FPV drones to aircraft and gliding/guided aerial bombs.
Pixel-Lock is already being adapted to the needs of Ukrainian units in programs to counter enemy drones and guided aerial bombs, and one of the developed devices — the X-Wing VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) interceptor — has been deployed in Ukraine for interception missions.
Alta Ares won a NATO tender in spring 2025 for solutions to counter gliding and guided aerial bombs, underscoring the company's technological capabilities.
Currently, production lines are deployed in France. At the same time, a plan is being considered to partially localize the production of components in Ukraine, which could strengthen the production capabilities and technological sovereignty of the Ukrainian defense industry.
The Gaze reported earlier that France plans to increase production and procurement of Aster and SCALP-EG missiles in 2026, some of which will be transferred to Ukraine to strengthen its air defense.
